Hanno Leichtmann lives and works in Berlin. To electronic music he came from jazz and free jazz. Plays drums and all kinds of electronics. Performed with many international free improvising and electronic musicians, among others: Connie and Johannes Bauer, Lars Rudolph, Nicholas Bussmann, John Zorn, Toshi Nakamura, European String Quintet, Hannes Strobl, Sam Auinger, Rupert Huber, etc ... In the last years mainly active under the monikers Static ,Vulva String Quartett, Forest jackson and White Hole.
Besides his soloprojects,Hanno Leichtmann is part of the POLE live band (Betke: electronics; Zeitblom: bass; Leichtmann: drums) and is also playing in a trio with Jan Jelinek and Andrew Pekler called KOSMISCHER PITCH.
Static is a solo music project by Hanno Leichtmann, with guest appearances by Christof Kurzmann, Ronald Lippok (To Rococo Rot), Stefan Schneider (Mapstation), Valerie Trebeljahr (Lali Puna), Martin Siewert (Trapist), Lars Rudolph and Justine Electra. Static performs sometimes as electronically equipped solo musician, sometimes with band (Lippok, Kurzmann, Siewert), sometimes as a dj. Did several records for CCO, Earsugar, Karaoke Kalk, Mosz and Audio-nl. Played in Europe, Japan, and South, Central, and North America.
